Piggy Prom

Tonight is "Piggy Prom" as it is affectionately called at Fort Clarke Middle School, where when you become an 8th grader you are a part of "Fat City" and a now referred to as Pigs. It has been this way since I attended there many years ago. Although, when I attended there we had a dance, nothing fancy, Sunday dresses mostly. This is my daughter and a few friends that came to my house for pre-prom photos (don't you love that both boys are wearing pink!) My daughter and I stayed up late making this sign for the photoshoot. Besides...

Stacey’s 365 Project- Day 142

My mom bought my little one a stuffed Bernese Mountain dog for getting good grades. It came in the mail today, and was a surprise. Needless to say she LOVES it. She decided it needed to go on a bike ride with her, and apparently he enjoyed himself. Scout, after his namesake (my mom's dog) rode very well and he is a happy camper.

Clickin Walk Savannah 2016

Today, my mom, sister and I went on our first #clickinwalk in Savannah #clickinwalk2016. While it wasn't what we expected we had a great time and took lots of pictures. Since I graduated from SCAD I wanted to get there a little early and go to the SCAD bookstore, so we kind of started our "clickin walk" early. We went to the bookstore where I finally got a SCAD Alumni shirt and a few other goodies, some to take home to the kids. The building below is just one of the older buildings that SCAD has restored and uses as...

Stacey’s 365 Project- Day 124

"Determination" My little one just learned how to ride her bike, today she was riding down a hill going quite fast, when she tried to stop quickly and took a spill. She was upset, she cried, I helped get her bike out of the road while she limped over to the curb. In a minute or so when she caught her breath, she got up and grabbed her bike and went straight back to that hill. She was determined not to let that hill get her down. She conquered the hill and was so proud of herself for not giving...

Stacey’s 365 Project- Day 123

I finally have a bicycle rider! My little one, the strong willed (they are actually both strong willed) child who marches to the beat of her own drum, was asked by her cousin to bring her bike to a family get together. The get together was in the country, on 5 acres none of which is paved. So I told her we could not have the training wheels out there because they would just stick in the grass. Once she got there her cousin (the same age) asked her to ride, he had learned how earlier that week...So my cousin...

Stacey’s 365 Project- Day 115

I wish I had a drive like this in Gainesville, the closest to this might be Millhopper Road. I guess technically this is not my "photo of the day" because I took this while we were in South Carolina as we were leaving my Granny and Grandaddy's. I asked my mom to pull the car over, because I knew this would be a cool picture and honestly I LOVE the way it turned out. Sometime, just sometimes it is worth pulling the car over to photograph something that you know will be awesome.

Stacey’s 365 Project- Day 114

I mentioned that I would be doing a Veteran's photoshoot at the VFW in #GainesvilleFL the day after my Grandaddy's pictures in South Carolina. This is one of the Veteran's I got a picture of. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the #USMC and he served in Korea and Vietnam and earned THREE Purple Hearts, among many other awards and ribbons. I was really excited when he showed up in his full dress uniform including white gloves. It was such an honor to get to photograph this among others today. I will be posting them on another webpage soon...
