Horse Fever

I have been working on a project for work about Ocala, Florida, The Horse Capital of the World. While working on the project I learned about these Painted Horses. I wanted to add a locator in my project, but as many places as I have looked online, I have yet to find a list to their locations. I found articles pointing to a list, only to find the list missing. So, I asked my mom (who grew up in Ocala) if she was interested in going to Ocala for an afternoon to hunt for the painted horses, of the #HorseFever initiative...

Stacey 365 Project- Day 206

I find this picture amusing, not for it's content but for the story behind it. We have a common tradition when family from out of state come to town, we take them to see alligators of course! Everyone knows Florida is known for its alligator population, and our out-of-town guests always want to see them. Of course we know a place that you are guaranteed to see them, and that is at Paynes Prairie's La Chua Trail. We always enjoy seeing the alligators too, contrary to popular believe alligators are not just meandering along Florida streets. However, from the time I was in...

May the 40th be with you!

A short time ago, I did a #DirtyThirty #CakeSmash photoshoot for a friend. We had a blast doing it, and my family decided I needed one for my fortieth. I had no idea this was planned, and my husband and I had just returned from our 20th anniversary cruise. We had LITERALLY just returned and were picking our girls up from my parents house when all of a sudden my sister pulls up with balloons, this AMAZING t-shirt, and a cake was on it's way. Well I was totally unprepared, We had just gotten off the ship, drove 3 hours,...

Gainesville Food Tour

I'm the WINNER! O.k. so here's how it all started...My friend Caroline and her husband Ryan started this business "Gainesville Food Tour" and I have wanted to go on this tour for some time, but you know how it goes, life happens... So, last week was Gainesville Restaurant Week and the GRW Facebook page was running a contest to win a free ticket on the Gainesville Food Tour, and all you had to do is comment on the GRW Facebook page while tagging the Gainesville Food Tour. So I commented, and I won! The catch, it was only good for this...

Piggy Prom

Tonight is "Piggy Prom" as it is affectionately called at Fort Clarke Middle School, where when you become an 8th grader you are a part of "Fat City" and a now referred to as Pigs. It has been this way since I attended there many years ago. Although, when I attended there we had a dance, nothing fancy, Sunday dresses mostly. This is my daughter and a few friends that came to my house for pre-prom photos (don't you love that both boys are wearing pink!) My daughter and I stayed up late making this sign for the photoshoot. Besides...

Clickin Walk Savannah 2016

Today, my mom, sister and I went on our first #clickinwalk in Savannah #clickinwalk2016. While it wasn't what we expected we had a great time and took lots of pictures. Since I graduated from SCAD I wanted to get there a little early and go to the SCAD bookstore, so we kind of started our "clickin walk" early. We went to the bookstore where I finally got a SCAD Alumni shirt and a few other goodies, some to take home to the kids. The building below is just one of the older buildings that SCAD has restored and uses as...

Stacey’s 365 Project- Day 124

"Determination" My little one just learned how to ride her bike, today she was riding down a hill going quite fast, when she tried to stop quickly and took a spill. She was upset, she cried, I helped get her bike out of the road while she limped over to the curb. In a minute or so when she caught her breath, she got up and grabbed her bike and went straight back to that hill. She was determined not to let that hill get her down. She conquered the hill and was so proud of herself for not giving...
